Cheapie Homemade Kickstand-Part 2

My kickstand, mentioned in a previous thread, has been working well with one problem. Because there is no stop it can rotate 90 degrees in either direction. It's a flat piece of metal so it's relatively stable but if you bump the bike from either end the kickstand folds up and the bike falls over. So I've been mulling it over and thinking of how much more complex I can make it until I found this, at Wally World, in the bike parts section, for $6.96.

been thinking of someting for db30 or mmb80 to mount on top of lower frame tube. tired of getting snagged or scraped from those factory kickstands. :cursing:

Thanks. That's just what I needed. Mine does indeed have a cheap, homemade kickstand. That looks like it will be perfect.

If you know anybody that mountain bikes I bet they will have a pile of them they will give you if they aint thrown them out. Thats the first part just about every mt biker takes off if the bike even comes with one.

There is also a style that clamps on a tube, might fit some better than the plate mount style.

Walmart has a style like that for $8

Easiest way to spot a poser or a noob. You do have the bikepackers but they are easy to tell apart from the hardcore and they do need a stand.
