Clutch removal and install questions

#1
Hey everyone.

I have two jackshaft kits coming for my girls minibikes. I got the clutch off with out tomuch trouble but it is hard to hold the shaft from turning to get the bolt loose.

Is their any trick to holding the shaft so it won't turn?

It was not to bad to get off but tightening it up is going to be harder to hold the shaft so it won't turn so I can get the bolt tight.

Thanks
George

Spin off the nut with impact driver, if you have one. To tighten, pull the starter rope out just enough to catch and it will hold the crank so you can tighten the clutch nut. Don't over do it, the retaining nut requires very little torque to hold. I use drop of blue locktite to hold it, but many don't like using locktite on the clutch retaining nut, just a matter of opinion.

I learned pull the starter rope method from Jimbo at FasterMotors.
