DB30 full throttle hesitation? Video

Fully stock. It kinda did this before I removed the screw with the spring on it that makes it go slower. After I removed that screw it was fine. Now it seems to be doing it again. Ideas on why it won't stay steady? What can I try?

Are you sure you're not running up against the govenor? I didn't watch the movie, just going by what you wrote

What do you mean? If you mean the screw with the spring on it, I removed that screw....

The govenor keeps your rpm's below 3600. At wide open throttle its common to feel the bike surging or cutting out if you hit the max rpm limit. If you put bigger tires on it the gear ratio would have changed. It's just a guess

After coming home and watching the video it looks normal. You have no load on it. Ride it and see if it still does it.

Do you have a dirty air filter? Or maybe a plugged fuel filter will do that to? Might be bad gas do you use regular gas. Is the high speed jet adjusted right?

Air filter clean, and I don't think there is a fuel filter?? And where is the high speed jet?

Did you do the basic upgrade on your engine? What size jet are you using? I started with the .38 jet and experienced that hesitation (or surge depending on your perspective:shrug and I put in a .40 jet, couple tweaks and I'm golden

Fuel filter screws in the bottom of the gas tank.

When you say stock, it's a 97cc?

Whoops, I should have specified, it's a fully stock 97cc engine...

Mine started doing similar lately. Good idle and good full throttle at no load. Under a load, it dies.

Sounds like the gov working to me. My 212 does this too. Stick a tac on it and see if the RPMs are in the 3500 range. The gov kicks in just above that.

Looks normal to me, give it some brake to put it under load, it will pull down engine, and back off the governor. Or, ride it, see how it goes and report back. :shrug:
