Fork Tubing

#1
Hi guys,

I picked up a frame last weekend, and the forks that came with it are just junk. I saved the triple trees, but can't find any steel tube locally to make new forks with. I looked at Home Depot & Lowes, but they don't sell 7/8" or anything close in their "steel rack".
Electrical conduit is too thin, and what they do have is too small.
Where do you guys buy correct fork/frame tube from?
Is 7/8" O.D. the correct size? That is what I measured with a steel scale.

Thanks in advance.

Where is Roccosbike on this one? I know he picked up some tubing that is the correct size to build them or a whole bike if needed. He did say it was quite pricey though.

Way up here in Nova Scotia we have a company called Metal's r Us , they sell any size shape and lenght of tubing or steel aluminum whatever you need .
And way cheaper than hardware store/do it yourself places.
Check your local yellow pages or bussiness directory under metals it may surprise you what is available.:grind:

you want .083 thickness or thereabouts. look locally for steel fabrication shops. i bought enough to do about 6 minis for about 100$
