The Hodaka Ace 100 E Code is stamped on the cases only right? All other Hodaka motor parts Top End, Head, Side Cases are interchangeable with the other Hodaka Ace 100 Code motors?

What is the difference between the ACE 100 & ACE 90 besides topend size? Can you tell the difference between the two of them in their E Code?

Ace 90's have four speed transmission's and a internal coil ( spark plug wire comes out of engine case ).

Ace 100's are five speed. And have a external coil.

There are other differences, mounts, air filter, ect. But the coil wire is the first thing I look for.

I'm old, don't remember half what I should. Take the following with a dash of salt. Hodaka did not make their own motors. I think they were made by the same company that make Rupp and Chapperal motors. I think I remember other brands that used them too. So these might be other sources for parts. Really pretty solid motors and trannys. About the only that went south on them was the little springs that held the ball bearings on the shifter shaft.
