HSK 5 hp - can't shut it off!

Anyone have ideas on how to shut off a Snow King engine that doesn't have a kill switch wire (green)? I have one mounted on my MTD/Columbia Mini Cycle (model 653-2) and the key was removed by Small Engine Warehouse for a minibike/kart throttle set up.....Help!

Nothing better than the obvious...but I'd like a better option than getting jolted half the time!

Thats what i do on my minibikes and never get shocked. Unless you dont have a boot on it, or your wires bad. Stop being a P**S LOL

OK if you wanna run a kill switch. Just remove the side cover, and on the coil should be a male terminal. Run a wire from that to a kill switch, and from the other side of the switch to a ground. :thumbsup:

Cool. Its easy to do. fun little project for you and your son. It wouldnt be good for him to grab that plug while pulling off the wire. LOL

Tecumseh also used a clip mounted on the cylinder head that you shorted the plug out with. You should be able to find one from a mower shop or something.

Or you can do what the junior dragsters do, put a zip tie around the end of the plug wire, and leave the end nice and long.:wink:that way you can yank on the zip tie and not have any chance of getting shocked.
