Intake bellmouth

I was trying to come up with a way to make a intake bellmouth or velocity stack like matt2 on the cheap and one day stumbling through YouTube and found

My mind was total blown
A few more videos confirmed my suspicion I can use the wood lathe in the shop the one that's gathering dust

First I needed to form a mandrel for the metal spinning process

Finished mandrel I still need to make some tooling for spinning

yup they make lightweight race car wheel halves that way too. love to see what you come up with. it looks so easy on the videos

Let's make some tooling

Old rebar should work

Little grinding clean them up a bit

Pick a forge

Get it up to temp

Rebar in

Hot hot hot
Hammer hammer

Grind and buff

Got to get the kids from school will turn some wood handles when we get back

Wow I make mine out of a big piece of billet and waste time and aluminum making them. This was great info!!
