inter changable? GX160 vs 200

#1
i have a old 5.5 genuine Honda i got from a lawnmower place, traded for it with a $80 chain saw i got running from the dump. ive had it for a wile. i cleaned the carb and i got it running good. the one issue is the old pressure washer pump was stuck on the crank, he soon cut it and its about 1.2 inches long now wich is NOT long enuf for a clutch. i want to use it on a monster truck go-kart im building with a lawn mower trans axle. i want to know IF a gx200 CRANK SHAFT will work in this GX160. and what else is compatible? thanks MM.

All parts are interchange..except the crank basically. You can use the GX200 crank but you have to do TONS of stuff to do it. So basically you are better off locating another GX160 crank or a clone 160 crank. New they are about 30-40 bucks.

ok, ALSO one more thing lol, would it be good to advance or retard the valve tming by one tooth? wich would be better, and or give me more torque? or would that be detrimental to the engine performance?

I have a 20mm crank you can have if you cover the shipping from Canada.
But its a 20mm key crank.

A machine shop could shrink that down very easily for you, but that's another cost.
You could buy a 20mm clutch, but that is also another cost...

Do not mess with the cam timing, it will just run like crap.
A 200 cam might have a bit more umph, but I doubt its anything you would feel.

that would be great, but i don't know of a machine shop near by, except for my high school, but they don't have a FUNCTIONING lath. i DO already have a used 3/4 clutch i was planing to use, but it is pretty well worn, it was of my baja mini bike. i will see what i can find.

My old man has a lathe a few counties north of you.
But the shock of an old snowbird in blue polyester and white shoes with cheese grader fedora combined with shipping cost + tank of gas to get there and back still makes the ebay thing cheaper ( and less shocking ).

LOL i probly will, ALSO i just realized, this engine has a FLAT TOP PISTON! do they come stock with flat tops? it does not look like it has ever been opened up before.....

The first generation used a 14cc head and a dished piston.

Yours is newer version with a 18cc head.
Fairly good chance the piston has long skirt too ( will not fit a 200 without a beard trim but it was done in days past )

one more thing, should i gt a advancement key to adjust the timing? if so, what amount will do what to the power, say a 4 degre advance vs retard?

eh, i am going to do a few things now while it is all apart. i guess so. i will just remove the governor, put in 18lb springs, a raging plug, and the crank. but i will see what happens/c

The 18 pound springs are from a G200 Honda if that helps.

What is a raging plug?
I use NGK plugs BPR6ES.

I bet I can tell you what happens when you fiddle about as it sounds like you are about too.
It goes BOOM! ( freeze some sperm now for later use )
