Interesting Remote Filter Set-Up

#6
I just thought it is really interesting. There have been times when I wished for such a device. If I had one, I would be sure that I would never need it, if you know what I mean.
Like those desert-racing Beetles with the filter on the roof.

Thanks for sharing that, Dad, it's an education. Only closest analogue I know of is the high mounted snorkel on my Odyssey FL250.

Pretty cool, and makes sense for dirty work. Tho I wonder how efficient those ribs are in terms of air flow.
I'm sure the ribs (for her pleasure?) help atomize the fuel/air mixture but do you need 3' to do it? :p

I remember some of the Craftsman edgers had a remote paper air filter mounted up high on the handle.
Deep water fording kit.
I have a Flymo that has a similar setup, those are made to mow around ponds and are pretty close to the water.
I've used something along those lines on one of my Snorunners, using old vacuum cleaner hose to route the filter behind the seat. In the stock location up front the filter gets soaked with snow, then when the machine cools down they freeze .
