Kick start ? Hand start ? Help

I Think this is tecumseh h25 . I haven’t seen this type of starter before anyone have any idea what it is ? Sorry the picture is so trrrible I didn’t take it

That is a hand crank starter. whatever you do, don't kick it LOL!

Hey that's pretty cool, as I've never seen one on a horizontal shaft motor.

I remember a vertical shaft one as a kid, that my grandfather had on a push mower...if I remember correctly it's like you turned that handle half a turn, maybe more ? ...as it clicked/racheted away at some spring loaded aparatus...then you'd "mash the button" and it released the energy to turn the crank shaft to start the motor.
