I picked up this Meyers Lynx 65. It looks just like a Taco 100 except for the frame top tubes. Does anyone know what years they were manufactured, or anything else about these? Thanks

Thanks Bayareaburrito, good info! These must have been made in the late 60's to early 70's? The frame style is similar to the 69-71 Taco 99-100 frames.

Meyers Lynx (Taco 100+-)

This bike is identical to my 70 Taco 100 with the exception of the frame top tubes. It has taco 100 wide 6 inch wheels, original carlisle indian head tires, taco shocks, taco drum brake, taco sprocket and jackshaft, taco fork, same wheelsbase, etc..etc... Does anyone know the years of manufacture or know how to figure out what the serial number means?

Thanks guys,

There;s a good reason for that. John Steen built them for B.F. Meyers co. They are often called Taco copies or outright mistaken for Tacos. Nice machines and a great score! I'm not sure on the DOMs or serial#s but I'd say early 60s to early 70s, I've seen an ad from 1969 with a Lynx 65 and a Dune Buggy pictured.

Thanks Supernova, Appreciate the help! I am thinking it is a 69 or 70 because that is when taco made the same frame/swingarm style as well. I took her out after the rain today and got her started. The guy I bought it from said his dad had put this 5hp briggs kart motor in her...It does seem to run well. I did not want to run her out until I have a chance to go through her and make sure all is sound...
