Measuring Crankshaft

Hey i have a Briggs 5HP and i am trying to find the size of it. Also what do you guys do when theres a nut thats really tight and cant take off? Cause i cant take of the cover for the crankshaft

get a bigger wrench!
soak it with penetrating oil and leave alone for a day!

Tape measure and a BFHut: just kidding , get some calipers they are one of the most useful tool I ever bought and for the bolt try heat and penatrating oil .:thumbsup:

where do i measure it the sides seem to be slanted and stuff

if its a 5 hp its probably 3/4"

Measure it just in the middle of shaft and around.
A caliper is the best tool ever!

is it possible to switch it to a 5/8 since i have some selling it to me

I think you should take your crankshaft out first so we can see how the bushings look. If you get the cover off the engine, take some pictures.
