Handle bars and front fender went off to the chrome plating shop. The guy does beautiful work at a reasonable price for chrome plating. Problem is… 14 to 16 weeks before I get them back

Dang it man 3-4 months on chrome , wow , I don't have that kind of patience
I hear you Angelo… It’s the same guy that I used last year. It’s a small 2-3 man shop, they do beautiful work at a much more reasonable price than the larger shops. I guess that’s why the long waiting list.

I have some ape hangers and a rusty fender to use for “testing purposes only”. The fender that went out for chrome plating came from 125ccCrazy ... I sent him a message saying I want to buy a fender he had. Next thing you know, it is delivered at my doorstep. I sent him a second message asking for his PayPal info, he replied… Merry Christmas. Very cool, thanks Randi

New chrome... nice! This is going to be good,
I quit, :doah:
Alsport’s are new to me, this is my first one. Very much looking forward to seeing your project progress… Perhaps we can help each other along the way. Feel free to ask me any question because I’ll probably be asking you some questions

What happens to a lot of two strokes is the crank seals dry out or crack and let air enter. The air leans the mixture and you burn a hole in the piston. To replace that crank seal you will have to remove that clutch part.
I have a bunch of old clutch pullers from many years of owning and working on snowmobiles. You are welcome to borrow what I have and see if any fit your clutch. I'm guessing I live about 45 minutes from you.

Listen to danford! he's 100% right. Replacing those seals is cheap insurance. You can use grease instead of oil on the clutch and there's a video on you tube on how to do it. The brake disk is a common snowmobile piece, 70's Arctic cat/ Rupp nitro if I'm not mistaken. Go to vintage sleds.com there are lots of great people that would be glad to fix you up.The Kohler's had ignition issues but there's is/was a guy remanufacturing them Scott Hewit if my memory serves me correct. Look for a spare recoil while your at it as those are a weak link.

That’s for sure Red Baron…VS.com is a great site with very helpful people. The majority my engine parts came from there. I also like attending the annual A-1 vintage snowmobile show and swap meet. It’s held annually in Chesaning Michigan. Acres and acres of vintage snowmobiles and parts for sale. lots of fun!

Old torque arms, badly bent. Would’ve took a lot of time to straighten...just to see them bend again. Didn’t think it was worth trying to save them.

n.o.s. pair of torque arms...I made sure to get the correct left and right sides.
New heavy duty Heim joints and lock nuts. Also have a set of Alsport U brackets... they go around the rear axle, connecting to the torque arms. Hopefully I will get a chance to see how everything lines up, tonight or tomorrow.

That's such a cool build. I know of A-1 but have never been. I've gotten lots of non snowmobile related items at sled shows, you never know what you'll find.
