Murray Mini Bike

#1
I picked up this Murray Mini Bike a few days ago and am ready to get it
running good. The person I bought it from said all it needs is the pull
cord to be fixed and a key. When you pull the cord to start it, it is super
loose like it's not attached to anything. I'm guessing just take the cover off
the motor and re-attach?

Also, the person did not have the key for the ignition. What are the
cheapest/easiest options for this?

Hi Tacuff,
Looks like a good project with not a lot of work to get it riding again.
I would take the pull off and check for a broken re-wind spring. That is very likely.

As for the key, can you just by-pass it until you get it running? Maybe just use a multimeter and trace it out, then jumper for now. Later you can probably find a replacement keyswitch.

I'm in Dalton, not far from you. Maybe we can help each other.

I think the key may be the same as a Murray garden tractor. Just unplug it at the engine until you get a key ... Just make sure you have a way to kill the engine!

Ok great that's what I'll start with, thanks.

Cool I'm off the Ringgold/Tunnel Hill exit 345...about 15 min or so from Dalton.
