Need a nonsplined steering wheel hub

Need to replace the steering wheel on a kart I am building for my grandson.
All reasonably priced steering wheels now seem bolt to a splined hub. This kart has a 3/4" Dia. shaft with a drilled cross hole for a bolt to attach the wheel. It is proving difficult to find a smooth bore hub. Any suggestions?

Hello Old Mini Biker : Well the splined hubs are normal made for a 5/8 inch splined hub and you said your shaft is 3/4 inch could you just bore out the hole to 3/4 inch and cross drill a holding bolt.

looks bigger than 3/4 OD. ??? do you need something to slide over it or inside the tubing .. can you post a picture of the steering wheel and hub ..

outside. this had the D shaped plastic wheel.

if you arent using that wheel, dont get rid of it!

i can make an adapter for you to be able to use a 3 bolt wheel. can add an inch or two like we talked about while im at it if you want

Thanks Steve. You are correct. I did exactly what you stated. Drilled out the spline and drilled a cross hole.
