Need Some Briggs ID Help

I have a Briggs model # 100202 sitting here. My local repair shop is trying to tell me that it's a 5hp motor; but from all the research I've done I'm convinced that it's a 4hp. The bore dia. is 2.490". Any of you Briggs enthusiasts out there know for sure? Thanks, Ogy

4 hp. numbers and 4hp. do have a smaller bore. Many other differences also.

My book shows the bore was the same on the 4hp and 5hp. The stroke of the 4hp was 1.94" and the 5hp was 2.438".

I measured the stroke and came up with 2.100". Because that's closer to 1.940 than to 2.438 and because the recoil shroud had 4hp on it; I'm going to call it a 4hp. Thanks for the help guys. Ogy

unfortunately, he's the only game in town. On the other hand, he does give me a good discount on parts. That being said; I think I'll depend on him for parts and OldMiniBikes for technical advice. Ogy
