old mini bike code

Ok, I went and broke the mini bike code. I saw Razer electric mini chopper on CL and had to buy it, for 50 dollars. It is in real good shape with low miles. I think the kids will like it, and when they are done killing it, I should be able to put some bigger wheels and a small gas motor on it. What do you all think, am I a trader?

you did brake the code, but i think we can all forgive you. fix it up and put a lil engine it, they look pretty small, maybe a lil chainsaw engine would work.

I did see some on line with Weed Eater and small Chainsaw motors on them. I was also thinking maybe one of the Whizzer motor kits.

maybe look into a 2.5 ohv engine that harbor freight sells. i think that might fit good and have good power to pull the kids around on.
alot smaller then the 6.5 engine and real small when you take the factory tank and exhaust muffler or is that still to BIG?

Not sure Delray, I will have to stop by Harbor Freight this week and see. And I agree that it is one less vintage for them to trash.

No, give him only twenty-five ... traitor or not, he IS keeping the kids away from the older and more valuable minis. Once those get trashed, that's one or more less old minis .... Be careful on setting up that rear wheel - some of the electrics have freewheels on them, so you have to make sure you have the freewheel turned in the correct direction to drive the bike. Might require a jackshaft to transfer power from one side of the bike to the other.

(Gawd, and here I've got like five pb's, a pair of gopeds, and finally just picked up a real B&S-powered minibike ... talk about being all over the board ...)

I found a video of one of these mini choppers that has been converted, to gas weed eater. I guess I want to know if any of our guys have used them and if it is worth my time.

two issues:
1) can you can get a clutch to fit the engine.....
2) those are only 25cc and probably won't pull the bike itself let alone a rider..they don't have any real torque since they don't need it to swing a string..

I'd go with either a small 4 stroke or look for a 50cc 2 stroke pocket bike engine like they put on those bikes...

that 323l would be better suited for an rc boat...

I do have a friend that I work with that parted out a pocket bike, maybe I will see if I can get the engine from him.

I used one of the 30CC McCulloch engines because the have a built in clutch on roller bearings and output shaft thats pretty long, when the extra aluminum is cut off from the case..

Yes they are VERY low torque.. BUT it's a tiny 2 stroke and gets like 12,000 RPM's... This little bike is kind of a Lard Ass for as tiny as it is.. But 12,000 RPM's geared down to about 7 or 8 miles per hour pulled me.. :shrug: Hell it was launching rooster tails in the snow by itself.. :lol: When I get all squared away at the new place, I am gonna bring the project thread back and finish the bike... Some year :glare:

These motors are found under lots of different names but I think McCulloch is the real builder.. This cover is Mac.. Or you could use one of those (made 2 be) 50 CC pocket bike motors.. :shrug:

That thing is bad ass getto fabulous, I would ride it everywhere.... Hope you do finish it, and post a cool video.
