This scrub brake was removed from an original Steen's (Taco) Frijole frame...so I assume it's original it sure looks vintage. It is in excellent condition with no rust or pitting. Some light sanding marks out on the foot peg end were to remove the burrs so it could be snaked out of the factory brackets. Plenty of steel left on the scrub pad, enough for many more miles riding. From what I am told the little nut welded on for the return spring is also original.
Look at how majestic it looks under the spotlight..genuine vintage made in the USA part. Probably hand bent by John Steen himself (verification required).
Sooooo..if you have an original Steen's Taco and the scrub brake is missing or damaged here's is your chance to replace it with an original part. I would guess these don't often come up for sale separately .
