Questions for the repair experts

On 2.5 and 3 HP B&S engines, flat heads, old types, what is a normal compression psi reading?
Once the exhaust valve seat has been "dimpled" with a center punch ( a ring of dimples to form a circle around the seat forcing AL to flow towards the valve seat) has been done once, and the valve is now leaking again, can the seat be re-cut again or is the short block toast?
Is it worth it or just sell the engine for scrap?

If the seat has been staked and has come loose again, id say junk it.
Ive seen them run on 60psi compression, thats on the low end. 75-90 is avg.

is the seat loose or is the valve leaking ? also did you check the gap on the valve lifters ? I had one that had low compression because the valve wasn't closing all the way because someone put in a new valve but never filed it to set the lifter gap.

I took the engine completely apart. The exhaust valve seat has wear. I might be able to re-seat the valve but I'm concerned it may sit too deep in the seat. The engine ran but only had 70 PSI. It had a lot of blow-by when warm at higher RPM.
