3.8 hp Tecumseh Aspera rod bearing lock washer? for nut or what? The bottom part seems to be a little softer.Trying not to bogger it up to much.

Those nuts may not be stock, but they appear to be lock nuts.
If you are trying to remove them use the correct size six point socket.

Well that solves it then. Its got to be some kind of pasta.

Maybe it's some kind of thread sealant derived from olive pits and sardine bones.
Honestly, I I would not worry abut it. I would figure out what thread is cut into the bolt/stud and replace the nuts with new ones.
That is IF the rod needs to be removed. If it runs, I don't take it apart.

On a serious note… it looks like the nuts are swedged to make them locknuts..you are seeing the swedging..

that type of nut should only be used once.use lock washer with it.
