tapered shaft

I have a chance to get a brig and strat that's 11hp with tapered shaft. The converter that goes on that is outrageous in price. Is the a way to mod the shaft? Thanks fir looking.

I think its best to leave as it is and waste a couple more bucks on a 1'' bore clutch, that's what I did

He can't, he has a tapered generator crank....

If ya get a snowmobile clutch, sled motors have tapered cranks too.. Not sure how close the two tapers are, but I know a guy who used sled clutches on an 8 horse.. Said it bolted rite on and worked great..

30mm taper is a standard snowmobile clutch bore, even in newer sleds...

the tapered shaft is just a bit bigger than 3/4 in i had generator engine that i used sandpaper and turned the crank down, just let the engine idle and held the sandpaper on it. then used a demel and cut a keyway, run it till the rod blew a hole in the block.
