Tech Carb Help

#1
I got a bike at the Ann Arbor show with an OHV Tech motor that I think is a 6 or 6.5hp.The motor will start if I shoot gas in the carb but stop shortly after. The numbers on the carb are 5243. I know nothing about these motors--does it need a carb clean or replace? It is the primer ball type. Appreciate your help.

I'd start with dropping the bowl.
If I am thinking right, there is a jet in there.
And maybe a adjustment screw for high speed, maybe? On the side of the carb?

Replace it...those carbs are throw aways. Unless you rebuild it and put a wire through all the holes and passages....it will give you nothing but problems.

I have to agree with cheesy, they can be a pain if not cleaned right. It would be easier to swap it out for an adjustable carb and use a good fuel filter also.

So what carb do I get? and any idea where I can get a new one?--thanks.
If yer pullin and pullin and you take the spark plug off and its not wet then gas is not getting into the engine and yes its a carb issue. And I too would just order a new one. But you may as well see if the plug is getting wet first. Sounds like its not.
