71 Bandit has a, Hs 3.5 with a Hs4.0 carb I can't seem to get it to idle properly any help

Using the correct carb seems like a good/obvious place to start right??

The reason the guy did this was he was told you get more out of it

Regardless of how it came or who said what, if you can't adjust the incorrect carb to run right using the correct carb seems like the best option. Or clean and inspect the carb for debris.
