Thinner tire on my mini

#1
I am revisiting an old idea of putting a thinner tire on my Coleman CT200 minibike. Initially I was going to use a bike tire, but it seems a pitbike or moped tire would be more appropriate.

How is the bolt that holds the front tire on measured? Are they all the same?

My current tire has a rim that takes up all the space on the fork bolt. If the replacement tire rim does not do that what do I use as a spacer?

The Coleman versions have 8" tires, correct?

You can find tires with straighter sidewalls, but will also loose treadwidth.

But if you are looking for skinny rims too, find some pocket bike rims.
Wow, Ive been noodling through this for a few months and never considered there was a tire with a smaller tread pattern that would fit on my rim.

My mini has AT 19x7-8 front tire.
The tire in the link is 480-4.00-8

I assume 19x7-8 = a 19 inch tire with a 7inch wide tread on a 8 inch wide rim?
What is 480-4.00-8? I assume a 4inch tread on a 8 inch wide rim, but what is the 480?

I want the turning to be more nimble, more bycycle like.

There is something goofey about turning an 8 inch wide tire. Its hard for me to explain, but the steering always feels like it is trying to steer itself back straight.

Ok, so if I use a pitbike tire or a dirtbike tire what is the chance the tire will fit on the bolt that is holding the rim to the fork?

The stock DB30 axle bolt is 12mm. The Coleman is an overgrown DB30.

Many of the pocket bikes used 12mm axles. It is fairly common.

For spacers, just use 1/2"(13mm) inside tubing. Cut it to the length you need.
