Time to get this thing going

Im back!

This is on my 2007 briggs and stratton doodlebug. Small engine.

Anyways, it starts up right away but the throttle is stuck open. It seems that it automatically springs it to throttle, instead of to idle. :shrug:

Also, between the carberator and the engine, gas leaks once the bowl is filled with gasoline...:repuke:is this a simple "carb replacement needed" thing?

If it runs good, the carb is good. Adjust the float on it and correctly install the throttle return spring.

Ok. It leaks gasoline like nothing else. Ill get it sorted out...thnx for the help

Could be some dirt in the needle valve, i have honda garden tracktor with g200
and it ran very bad and carb leaked gas if i let the fuel tap on. Opened the carb and the bowl was filled with sand and other crap, now it runs great and no leak.

Clean the carb. Check your linkages.

Keep in mind I cleaned the carb completely about a year ago and have been having the same issues. Thnaks for the suggestions.

a year ago is a long time to be sitting idle. follow some or all of the suggestions and report back. carb is prob still good.

Update: Sold the bike, after fixing the springs. They were all outta wackl=. Gotta love the forums always there to help!
