Your first mini bike and it’s good stories

#41
I do remember everybody put their garbage in heavy galvanized cans with a handle on each side and a big heavy lid on it. In spring and fall, we had to tie the lid down to keep the raccoons out. The cans all went to the side of the street once a week. The guys who dumped them into the big noisy truck would sit them upside down and throw the lid in the yard. We learned that if you put an M80 under the can on the grass, the can would fall over. However, if we moved the can to the sidewalk or the street, that M80 would blow that can ten feet in the air, making a huge racket.
Someone had a bigger firework called a "Silver Salute", I believe. It was bigger then M80, and the myth was that it was like a 1/4 stick of dynamite.
One of those could blow the bottom slam out of one of those big heavy cans.
