im looking for a 7 inch comet 30 series driven unit. part numbers are 217611A or 217778A. any condition.

Here is a post by someone that doesn't seem to be telling the truth..or maybe doesn't know the real truth. I seem to remember the bike in the same condition selling for 450. Now listed for 875 firm...and mentioned the fact it was never driven. Maybe it has changed hands a few times and stories...

Frame has no major issues, under the driven clutch area there looks to have been some bracket possibly an added clutch cover bracket welded an removed leaving a high area on the frame tube. Otherwise the frame is excellent as are the forks and handlebars etc. Factory 2 1/2" band brake still...

Came off a 72 Cat Endura. Symetrical, 5/8 bore, 5/8 belt (TC88) all buttons there. Seems like it's in good shape, but never tested. Couldn't find the driver for it, so switched to Comet. Might be a hard to find item because I couldn't find what they normally go for. $55 shipped. PayPal only.
