I picked up a set of SEBAC's recently on ebay and got lazy and didn't ask the seller to check the eye to eye dimensions. I have a number of sets and should have noticed the obvious difference in the bottom tube lengths. These showed up and I was surprised at how short they were. Ooops. What...

Spring cups on the tops of the shocks are stamped with "SEBAC" "FULCON"???, and "HREV"???

Tapered base shocks have 1.75" spring diameter with 1.875" spring caps.

Tapered base shocks have 1.5" spring diameter with 1.625" spring caps.

From left to right, Short w/taper, Long w/taper, and Long w/straight bottom. Tapered shocks have a 1.5" dia. spring. Heavier duty w/straight bottom has 1.75" spring.

Short shock is 11.5" overall and 10.25" OC. Long shock is 13" overall and 11.75" OC. Measurements are approximate. The upper half of the shock is identical. Only the bottom tube is lengthened. Bottoms look like they are interchangeable.

"Made in Italy" is cast into the top.

"SEBAC 12" is cast into the top.

Here is a NOS set of original Sebac Shocks. These are still in the original wrapper. They are near perfect and as good as they get. Asking $125 + $12 shipping to your front door.

Taking a bike down today and I broke a lower eyelet on a Sebac shock. its the non tapered lower style. This ones off a heathkit, I think I usually see them on the bigger bikes. I need just the eyelet if you have used one of these shocks for parts or something or if you got a single shock...
