did you spot a Union label on it on the underside of the forks anywhere? You could find them on the chrome bikes sometimes, I would imagine the guys that did the chroming for Roper (they may have even done that inhouse as it was an appliance union) would stick them on there.
the one I redid a few years ago had one, and someone else that had one said thiers had it too. They were both open forkplate versions though
