The best place I have to ride is idle land south of Dallas. Mainly native grasses and cactus, so have extreme fire danger most of the time, except just after it rains and early spring.
The 97cc engine OEM muffler comes with a marginal spark arrestor (just some wire mess across the outlet hole). Some come with the mesh so large it is not effective, so needs to be replaced. Recently, I noticed the mesh was completely burned out of my favorite ride so I installed a better spark arrestor.
I used Briggs muffler parts for 3hp flathead.
Here's pics of what I did:
1st I drilled the holes, 2nd I installed the spark arrestor, 3rd I covered the original muffler hole, and finally, I installed the deflector.
So, far works great, engine runs better. :thumbsup:
