What hp? What year is it? Is the pto side cover interchangable? i wish to shorten the cam and get a side cover with the 4 bolt hole pattern for mounting a torque converter. Thanks!

It is a 1970 year model....not sure on hp. Pretty sure its a 4 or 5hp.

A lot of folks just saw off the end of that small shaft and use it that way . :shrug:

Yes that's a 4hp, the piston is a little smaller and the stroke is a little shorter on a 4hp Briggs but everything else is the same between the 4&5hp Briggs engines. The head on a 4hp Briggs is a higher compression head than the 5hp.

Oldschool....I just remembered that I have a 5hp Briggs engine with a bad block ( bad cylinder), I have a good side cover and a good stock cam for it though. If you need it ..It's yours for free just pay the shipping.
