There seems to be a lot of disagreement about statistics.

But I will agree that guns do not cause the problem as mcuh as guns in the wormg hands.

I have been aware of the ease you can get a gun in Switerland ( spit on them capitalist pigs lol ) for some time because of their militias.

I want you too look at the statisics.
They have more Guns than Canada and nearly as many as the USA but with a much lower crime rate.

My next observation is going to piss people off.
The question is why is there such a difference?

I believe as much as I hate Swiss ( spit )finance they have managed to keep the relative poverty rate low enough that their are just not as many well armed pissed oof poor people with guns.
Now can we replicated that?

The Swiss ( spit ) maybe they can make more than watches and invisable bank acounts and have something to teach us.

While you can certainly find crooked people, in law, law enforcement, or politics, or anywhere; my own life experience leads me to disagree with the gist of this post... ie, that the only way to get ahead in a free market is to lie and cheat. Most of the successful people I know are honest and work hard. They seek to provide the best possible service, whether they run a business, or work for someone else. As a business owner, I know that I may do business once with someone who doesn't deliver what they promise, but I won't do business with them again. The people who I do business with over and over again, the ones that are really successful are the ones who work hard, and go the extra mile. So, I try to be that guy myself, and the more I become the guy who goes the extra mile, the more my clients value my services and products.
The most successful attorney I know is one of the most honest people I have ever met.

Morality and I hear you loud and clear.

But for those that would pounce and and have not read this yet.
My point is simple.
Its a lot harder to get ahead by being honest and working hard than to follow a moral path.

What is moral anyway.
To banker for exmaple it seems quite moral to privatize gains and solcialize losses.
We showed them that, and they will never forget it...

To a kid out of college having done everythign the hard way ( including actualy doing his ome work and not buying it ) the reward is a job that does not often pay enough to cover the loans.

What about the kid ( and I hear most kids these days actualy cheat ad lie about what they write and do ) who gets through higher learning by not following the rules.
Well he already saw the bankers get away with more of the same.
SO why should we expect much different?

We've also seen how goverment is real bad at making descision that are good for the everage person but fantastic as stacking the deck for the wealthy and powerful.

So is we go all the way back to my poat about whaty Imake and pay in tax and look at say...

They pay 14% tax and are excempt from Sales GST VAT ect taxes.
What does GM do with that money?
Pay the rich guys in banking and repatriate it to places and people that have little or nothoing to do with the actualy purchase or manufacture of the cars.

Kids see that too and can we balme them for not trying very hard, feeling like they have been slighted?

I liek the fact we are now todl we have a shortage of workers in many industries and buisnesses.
So what does govermernt do?
Tell us to delay retirement....
Expect to work for less longer.....
Bring iun workers form, other countries to work or less....
And all the while the kids can't get decent jobs.

The kids you see grew up in a era of plenty where jobs were not that hard to get, the standard of living ( or credit fueld growth take your pick ) seemed to promiss more of the same and the dream of a house and car and white picket fence seemed assured.
Now they are told thats not the case.
We got that but your going to have to do without because of use and maybe even stay that way to suport us.

Just more symptoms of what is wrong beyond crime and violence.
And non of it will be effected much if at all by gun control.

I have thought long and hard about this.
If I could come up with a scam that rewared me with 2 million bucks and a 50:50 Chance of getting caught would I do it?
Well to be honest the risk is just a few years for a white collar crime and that does not mean I have to pay the money back as long as I hide it.
The risk and reward for ruining Grandma's pension is much better than robbing a bank ( as are the odds of getting away with it )

I've been online almost since there was an online. I remember sending BASIC programs back & forth to my buddy with our 300 baud modems, tape drives, and Atari computers. I remember having 8" floppy drives. My first hard drive was $1000 and held 10 MB. I remember when search engines were called gophers, and had names like Archie & Veronica.

And I don't remember ever, not one time, seeing someone say "Hey, you've changed my mind" in a religious or political discussion.

It's why I tend to stay out of them.

I never saw a real computer in real life untill I got College ( I mean a machine that did something practical other than Play space invaders )
