Hi All
I just tuned up a briggs carb 3.5 and it will not start and run without fluid. I'm not good with Briggs. It idles, runs and throttles up fine until it is shut off then wont restart without fluid. What am i missing?
Thanks
Xander
Go real easy on using that starting fluid! It is ether-based and has a drying out effect on your cylinder wall lubrication. It is a hell of a solvent and will wash the oil off of the cylinder walls with repeated and extended attempts. Use just a tiny puff to see if the engine "pops" (fires) only. No repeated attempts at trying to get the engine to "run" on it or you will be doing some rebuilding/replacement of the internals...
