most people hear know about hecumseh hm80s and hm100s but not everyone knows in tecumsehs last few years they made over head varients of these engines. I'v recently started seeing them pop up for sale on cregslist. and its got me thinking. the tecumseh star was based off the hm80 and is a supper powerfull flathead engine. so how powerfull woold one of these overhead valve engines be if it was built to be as powerfull as it coold like a hevily modified star engine and how woold it compare to one?. also these over head valve blocks look just like the flathead versions with a new head, intake and exhaust on top. so are they based of them using most of the same internal parts?
