I have had this for about 10 years, but I don't know what it is. I got it for free from a plumbing company I worked for in high school. I took it home changed the oil, added gas and it ran great. I started it about 2 weeks later and the carburetor was leaking gas profusely, then it never started again. I've been tempted to rob parts off it over the years because I love the round tank and finned air cleaner, but have managed to keep it complete. I would like to get it running again, mostly for fun, but would like to know what type of engine it is. Only markings I found are what appear to be date cast into the back of the block that say 2-21-49 and the number 3 on its own. It has a nifty little Carter carburetor. So from that little info and these pictures, does anyone know this engine?
