extending jackshaft on Comet Tav 30

hey guys...I have my HS35 TEC engine mounted to my MTD frame now, and I have a Comet Tav 30 mounted to the engine...now...I want to take off the factory jackshaft..and install an extended one. TO remove the factory shaft..do I just remove the retaining ring on the back side...or remove the nut from the outside? I would assume it was the retainer ring, and then pull the driven pulley and shaft out..but I wanted to check to be sure.

Remove the nut and then take a plastic hammer and LIGHTLY tap it out.

thanks..I still have your PM about adding the new longer jackshaft..but I couldn't figure out how to get the stock one out!

Yeah when I first got my TAV I thought that the nut held the whole setup together, so I avoided removing it until I found a parts diagram. Post pics when you are done.:thumbsup:
