Got this HS 40 today no spark

Traded a Bonanza frame for this motor and cash. It has no spark. #s look like 552508 ? What can I check first? Points? Are tune up kits available? Needs a carb also. I want to use it on my BC 1300. But that's in the future too many projects already !

First thing to check is the plug, then the points, then the coil and condenser (I always change both at the same time). If you still don't have spark, you've got a ground somewhere.

It's nothing you can't remedy for $20-30 most of the time

- Plug first, it's easy & cheap.
- Tune up next. Condensers don't last forever.

One question, in the picture with the model number plate, the kill switch connection looks almost like it might be touching sheet metal. But, it could be just the camera angel.......

I did check the plug first. Being Easter Sunday and I was BBQing I didn't go any further. Yea some guy I sold a chopper frame to bout 2 mos. ago pulled up on it and asked if I had any thing for sale. I sold him one of the Four Bonanza frames, I bought last week. He threw in this motor. I'm gonna check that ground Thanks for the heads up!
