hs40 only runs half choke ?

hi my hs40 needs choke to start it then it will only run on half choke when i flip it to run position it dies and it really dosent run that bad on half choke even after its warmed up only runs on half choke :shrug: it ran that way before i rebuilt the carb does anyone know i searched this subject found nothing i would think one of the teccys here would know iam sure mines not the only one anyone know

i think thats a symptome of running lean, so i would try richening it up a bit

Sounds like a points motor problem.Remember you can't even tune a motor unless the spark is spot on.Make sure of that first, then its a carb issue.The symptoms can fool you.

it could be a clogged main jet,there are two very small holes in the side of the brass jet that need to be cleaned. your problem is from the low speed/idle jet being clogged.
