A co-worker gave Me this motor from a chipper not knowing it has a 1in crankshaft:doah:
Is it worth buying a 1in clutch or changing out the crankshaft?
Looks like a mid-to-late 80s model engine, judging by the decal on the side. If you need an engine that'd be a good one. The 1" shaft would be good for a TAV unit, but if you're thinking centrifugal clutch, they start getting pricey.
I had an hs40 that came of a snowblower with a 1" shaft like that. It was more cost effective to buy a 3/4" crank than to buy a 1" clutch. The crank I got wasn't threaded for a bolt at the end, but a drill and tap fixed that.
