New Briggs 3.5 horse flathead

#1
The local small engine shop has this brand new Briggs and Stratton 3.5 horse flat head. Never had fuel in it. Shop is here in Bend, Oregon. Thought I'd do them a favor by posting it. Original price was about $350 I think. They just want $100. They also said shipping would be around $30. They had 3 new engines on sale. I bought the other two. The $50 sign in the back ground was the price they had on the new 6 horse Tec i bought.:scooter:

If this is still good get back to me as it is what I am looking for.
I am doing a retro project on a Blitz and it would be perfect for it.
Thanks for updating this.

Just called them....they still have it. I would call them on the number listed above in the pic. It says you are located in the sf bay area. The guy thinks he can't ship it there due to emission laws but he's gonna research it. Maybe you know someone in another state that he can legally ship it too. Let me know what happens. Thanks.

Got a name for the business owner, I can have it shipped to one of my sons in Reno if he feels more comfortable about it, no problem.
Calif emmissions apply to engines sold as NEW only, if it has been run it is used and does not count, If you remove the gas cap or spark plug it is non running as to missing parts etc, also ok as it is for parts.
Same with replacement engines for Jap cars if the engine is NOT complete it is ok, thats why jap replacement engines are such a big business as in Japan when a engine reaches a certain mileage by law it must be replaced so most come to the US as parts. I used to import and sell them (only the Toyota and Datsun (Nissan) truck engines) here in the bay area many years ago.

Good deal...I'm glad to see it going on a mini bike instead of a snow blower etc. Hope it works out well for you.....Good thing you scooped it up cause I would have had to rescue it soon and put it on my Rupp.:thumbsup:
