Well, I made some more progress this week...

After painting and re-assembling the frame, I set the motor in place and tried to align the sprockets, but the rear chain-guard bracket was in the way, with the TAV2 bumping into it.

I removed that, but still had a clearance issue, in that the rear of the TAV2 back-plate was hitting the rear fender mount-tube. I thought about cutting out a portion of the mount tube since it only supports the fender, but then decided to see what a 1/2" lift on the motor would get me.

Well, that worked out perfectly, still needed the rear chain guard bracket gone, but the TAV2 now clears the fender mount tube and allowed me to correctly position the motor so the sprockets are aligned.

Still need a gas-tank (small tank in photo is a test-tank) and seat, but need the tank first, so I can correctly spec the seat size for '8ball. Of coures I still have to put together a chain of the proper length, and fit the hand controls, etc.

Here are some pics, you can see the 1/2"x1" channel I used for lifting the motor... I painted it after the pictures were taken:

Looking good! What's it going to have for brakes?
That is a good question... it comes with a disc on the rear wheel, but the after-market calipers are too thick to fit between the wheel and disk.

I'm either going to look at making a spacer to move the disc a bit farther from the wheel, or remove it altogether and go with a band brake setup. :hack:

Wow, those look way better in black.

I'm just wondering why you are painting before :hack: ,,, and you get on my case for not finishing any of my 13 projects. :eek:ut: after all,,,, the phrase is not paint twice mesure once! :thefinger:

Actually, I simply screwed up 'cause although I made sure the motor fit before painting... I didn't attempt to line up the sprockets, and that is where I ran into issues...

What can I say, I'm not as experienced at all this as you... :thefinger:

Looking good. you'd better hold on tight and lean forward when you crack the throttle the first time. You should have power to spare.

I’m getting closer… still need a tank and a seat… Oh yeah, and a brake!

It will get a little detailing as well, before the final showing.
