Here are the beginnings of my custom Doodle-Bug.

The frame, given to me by a good friend: GTO

The motor (Tecumseh OHH60) I’m going to use, bought as a display model from TSC.

The TAV2, bought new from MFG Supply.

The frame, with OHH60 sitting in place to verify it will fit. It looks like I will need to drill a couple holes in the mounting plate to accommodate this one.

The OHH60 with TAV2 mounted.

The OHH60 and TAV2 ready to install.

I now need to strip the frame, sand and paint it, then I’ll be ready to assemble and detail the completed bike… stay tuned.

The motor will remain stock... I'm not really a speed junkie (which may have to do with the fact that I don't heal as fast as I once did), and I think the 6hp combined with the TAV2 will give me all the performance I need. I do intend to add a custom breather and header, but those will come later. :scooter:

Excellent engine/torque converter choice...this baby should scoot right along just as fast as anyone would sanely want to go...and do it reliably for years to come.

I thought these Doodlebugs were painted gold by the manufacturer...this one looked salmon pinkish on my monitor...

Black is beautiful...can't ever go wrong with 'BadAss Black'...

This one's gonna be a blast to ride and show...

YH, they are orange bikes. How easy is it to change the sprocket on the torgue converters? I have one on a parts bike I got but it has a 41/420 sprocket and I haven't taken it off yet to see. (too many projects!) :doah:

'8ball,

I agree... I'm going to include one of your seats... just haven't settled on the dimensions/style yet... the factory seat is a bit... under-done, IMO.

Yes it is Oldman....whats the spacing on the mounting holes on that seat? I figure theres going to be a ton of doodlebugs hitting the streets after christmas. I should make a cool looking replacement seat for it...the stock seat is pretty LAME.
