Here is an old Powell front fork.
The upper triple-tree has some metal hacksawed off,
and the upper bearing is damaged and needs replacing.
$50.00 cash money in my hand,at my house:

The 1/2" holes are a little scary, not sure how you fix that, got any ideas?? Maybe send them with George tomorrow, or bring them if your coming, let's see if i could use them. I really need those 2 legs!!

The hole is easy to fix, clamp a piece of aluminum on the back side and weld the hole up the weld will not stick to the aluminum but will allow a backing to weld to. Then center and re drill.. I will have to look I think I have some pics for plugging holes on a old car thread...

Here is a example of plugging I did on a GM frame with aluminum backing, after the weld is done the aluminum just pops off and gives a backing for a clean weld and no distortion. After welding clean it and drill the hole needed.
