repair bent rear sprockets?

Bent sprocket, buy new or used or repair?

Can't tell yours is bent from pic, but I straighten them. Take it off, put on flat surface and start beating it with a hammer. :hammer:

I'd use a hydraulic press but a big hammer would work. Put a piece of solid aluminum on the sprocket and hit that instead of directly hitting the sprocket---saves putting hammer marks in the sprocket. Since metal springs back when bent you might need to put a thin metal shim under the bent edge so the hammer blows will initially bend it a little farther than necessary.

There is hundreds of ways to bend them straight I think a press is the most controlable and least damaging. IMO

I got a fat chisel & a rubber mallet,:hammer: straightened out fine.
