Tires/Tubes do they match?

Hi everyone! New member, long time follower...

I will preemptively apologize for my ignorance. Working on restoring a mini bike that has been in the family since it was originally purchased. Of course as soon as I get one thing fixed and want to play with it. Another aged part expires... It has been fun learning about these mini bikes and what used to seem like obscure parts/numbers.

So here is my issue/question.

Issue: Flat tire = Inner Tube busted
Is the inner tube size supposed to match the tire size?

The reason I ask is because when I pulled it out this morning.
Tire = Cheng Shin 4.00-5 2 Ply
Tube = 4.10/3.50-5 LTLG-410

The valve popped off probably from age but I was curious if the inner tube was also the incorrect size.

Thanks for any help!

4.10/3.50-5 is a general size. I don't think the tube being slightly larger than the tire will make much of a difference. The tube (if I understand correctly) is only .10 wider than the tire

Thanks pirranah! I didn't think it would be much difference either. Been trying to learn and use as much of the original equipment on here as possible. Realizing that those that worked on it previous just put on whatever they had lying around.
