Tuning a mikuni 22mm carb

I can't seem to get my bike to idle . It just runs at high RPMs . Adjusting the fuel/air still can't bring it down .is this a jet issue ? I don't know what size jets it came with. Any help would be appreciated .

The spark plug is black (running rich)

Sounds like a rich condition with a vacuum leak. Are all you gaskets/sealing surfaces good? Can you verify the position of the slide?

I did read that and is where I'm getting most of my information.I just don't know how often you change jets in a situation like this. It's a new carb.
