Looks right to me  late model US motor 580, doubt they came with air cleaners, or tanks due to the various applications. The pull start is correct, while it is a tecumseh style they usually are built with more Pawls (I think thats what you call them) and maybe a little heavier duty.

Interesting. My 580 came with that exact Tec piece, and the seller stated he had replaced it and the pawls due to failure with Tec pieces.

The tank mount holes look like the tank mount, or bolts were recently removed.

What I was really interested in, is how a 580 has 8.20 inches of displacement.

My 580 with the exact black Tec recoil is only 5.8 CI.

judging by the way the model number is added after the original printing I would say that someone grabbed the wrong cover page at either the printers or at US motor.........Or it has a paper thin cylinder wall

you could always call US motor power and try to verify, I don't think they have sold 580's for quite a few years now, I think they only deal in 820's anymore but someone may be able to help.

Nah, no bother. I have my own 8.2 cu in 580 I'll be selling later with clutch, pipe, and velocity stack. Nice to know it's worth so much. I could trade it in for an MC91.
