Why a Jackshaft

A well a couple of reasons I know of . First is to keep the chain from being to long of a run , second is to have the ability of different gear ratios .

Kinda thought it was all about a long chain run.

Hmm never thought of the gear ratio aspect , good answer :thumbsup: we need a ratio calculator so we can build some tire burning wheelie machines :lol:

I all ways felt it's so you can use a smaller motor with gear ratios. Change around the gear ratios and you can have a top end or a quick start. Just my 2 cents....
