When I started out learning to paint and pinstripe I didnt sign my name. Then I started to do work for random people and they would always ask me why I didn't sign my artwork. So i asked my buddies for suggestions since they have a ton of nick names for me, they all suggested to sign Danny boy.. there is already a well established painter named Danny boy so I changed it up a bit.. my last name starts with an E so it works in that sense too..

Other nicknames that didn't make the cut were bigD, Danomite, Danimal, Dano,Danaconda.....

Some great stories in this thread.

The OldMiniBikes is the first forum that I've ever particapated in, so I was not sure about how folks came up with these names.

Wanted to get on with the registration process, got lucky and my first name + last initial were available...seemed fitting, so went for it  .

I tried other names on another site but they were all taken. So out of frustration I slammed my hand down on the keyboard and pushed enter. 45t was born.

I thank it to my short fuse. I've been using the screen name for along time (10+ years).
That is funny as hell...

Not True - I always thought yours was the coolest - Rev My Motor:thumbsup:

And I thought buckeye was a sweet - the peanut butter thing saw it on tv once.

You can be glad I went with my avatar rather than the porn thing - don't think I'd have to many friends with a name like "Schlomo Hump"

I always liked war movies , specially ones with tanks - PATTON is one on my hero's. Tryed to get armour corp in the army, but they said I was to tall.
The Name is a play on the Toys are us - hence TANKS ARE US
If I read your screen name fast I always think it says Tankasaurus (dinosaur) but I know better now.

My buddy and I used to buy and sell stuff. Our only rule was whatever we bought had to make 100% profit. So if I bought something for $5 it had to be easily worth $10 or if one of us paid $100 it had to bad worth $200... When we saw something we weren't sure about the value but wanted to take a shot. We decided to what we called "Gump It"... Like Forrest Gump.... Got lucky on his endeavors.... I started using it as an email.then Ebay ID then screen names on forums....
