Got about 3 of these engines. They were built in wolvohampton England (20 mins from where i live). Only problem is the output shaft being tapered and threaded (roughly 17.5mm) finding a clutch can be a problem.

made a shakedown run on my bird "war eagle". pics coming....I used a little 3 hp briggs (no gov.) that was on the bike,I think these work a lot better for more legroom. decals coming from bikebudy .....:scooter: Mick
Looked at this bike a few times now.Took a really ggood look at it again today with JR.It's a Sachs,supposed to be a 1938.
I got first dibs if I want it.Still waiting for the seller to put a number on it.
I stumbled across this on youtube and thought it was really cool. They are known as the Welbike made by Excelsior Motor Company. They dropped these things out of airplanes with some of the airborne divisions! So damn cool if you ask me...
